- Inorganic chemical compound from the chloride group, a salt of hydrochloric acid and ammonia. It occurs naturally as the rare mineral salmiak native.
- Application
- It is used as an electrolyte in dry galvanic cells. It is also used as a flux in soldering, galvanising and tinning. It is also used as an expectorant medicine (a component of anise drops), an additive to cattle feed, a component of shampoos, and is used in food products as a leavening and preserving agent (E510).
