Technical calcium chloride

- Product description
- It is an inorganic chemical compound from the chloride group, a salt of hydrochloric acid and calcium. It is a strongly hygroscopic substance.
- Application
- Calcium chloride, together with sodium chloride, is used as a substance preventing the formation of ice on roadways. In summer it is used to limit dust formation on road surfaces due to its hygroscopic nature and the stickiness of its hydrates. The concentrated solution maintains a liquid layer on dirt road surfaces, which inhibits dust formation. It keeps finer dust particles on the road, forming a cushioning layer. Calcium chloride is also used, among others, in the food industry as an acidity regulator, stabilizer, carrier, emulsifying salt, and binding agent. It can be used for drying gases and liquid organic substances, as well as for obtaining calcium compounds.
